FOOTBALL RANKINGS: Latest poll features pair of ties for No. 1

Eventually it’ll all work itself out. But for now, several teams are stuck in a two-man tussle for the top spot in their respective polls.

In Class AAAAAA, Colquitt County and Marietta are tied for No. 1, while Dublin and Rockmart share the top spot in Class AA. Both teams will have major non-region, non-classification tests this Friday as Colquitt will travel Class AAAAAA No. 1 Valdosta for a classic South Georgia football matchup. Meanwhile, Marietta will lock up with Class AAAAAAA No. 3 Grayson.

As far as the two deadlocked Class AA schools, Dublin draws a Class AA top 10 opponent when it travels to No. 9 Brooks County, while Rockmart will take a trip to Franklin to matchup with a tough Heard County squad.

In Class AAA, top-ranked Peach County — fresh off a huge and somewhat surprisingly easy win over former Class AAAAAA No. 1 Lee County — will face another AAAAAA test at No. 10 Houston County.
