GHSA Releases 2020 Football Schedule

The much-awaiting high school football schedules are here:

The much-awaited debut of new Valdosta coach Rush Propst will take place on Aug. 22 when the Wildcats host Warner Robins on a match between two iconic programs.

Here are just a few of the highlight of the first weekend:

Aug. 20: Richmond Hill at Jenkins

Aug. 21 — Colquitt County at Marietta; Woodward Academy at Newton; Norcross at Hillgrove; Veterans at Northside Warner Robins; Calhoun at Dalton; Douglas County at Lithia Springs; Wren (S.C.) at Buford; Dutchtown at Lanier; Spalding vs. Griffin; Blessed Trinity at Alpharetta; Cedar Shoals at Clarke Central; North Oconee at Oconee County; Westminster at Lovett; Hart County at Elbert County; Thomasville at Brooks County; Holy Innocents’ at Pace Academy; Christian Heritage at Fellowship Christian; Calvary Day at Prince Avenue Christian; Irwin County vs. Eagle’s Landing Christian.

Aug. 22 — East Coweta at Starr’s Mill; Southwest DeKalb vs. Stockbridge;  Josey at Laney;

Already announced are the Corky Kell Games:

  • Aug. 19 at West Forsyth: Cherokee vs. Carver; West Forsyth vs. Mays.
  • Aug. 20 at Dacula: Denmark vs. Tucker; Dacula vs. Archer.
  • Aug. 21 at Rome: Cedartown vs. Carrollton; Rome vs. Rockmart.
  • Aug. 22 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium: Kell vs. Walton; Brookwood vs. Collins Hill; Mill Creek vs. Parkview; Lowndes vs. Hoover (Ala.); North Gwinnett vs. McEachern.

The Erk Russell Classic at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro on Aug. 22 features: Lincoln County vs. Clinch County; and Wayne County vs. Statesboro.

Now let’s just hope things get started when they’re supposed to.
